Srinagar: Pakistan violated ceasefire in Uri sector along the Line of Control by opening indiscriminate fire on Indian posts, Army sources said today. The Pakistani troops opened fire on three Indian posts in Kamal Kote area of Uri sector in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir yesterday afternoon, the sources said. AP[/caption] The firing comes after the death of 5 Indian soldiers who were attacked by 20 heavily armed Pakistani soldiers and terrorists who crossed the border in Poonch, around 200 km from Srinagar.

that two Pakistani soldiers were wounded in an exchange of fire with Indian troops on Tuesday, quoting officials on both sides. According to the Reuters report a Pakistani military official as blaming “unprovoked Indian firing” for injuries to the two Pakistani soldiers. He said that senior army commanders on both sides had spoken over a special hotline after the border skirmish. Agencies
