The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will move the Supreme Court on Monday to seek the removal of the officer caught taking a bribe of Rs 7 lakh to settle a land dispute. Superintendent of Police Vivek Dutt, along with Inspector Rajesh Karnatak and two others were arrested by the internal vigilance unit of the CBI from Lodhi Colony in South Delhi. Zee News quoted CBI director Ranjit Sinha as saying, “We had information about the dealing and we continued to maintain surveillance on them. After monitoring them for pretty long, today (Friday) they were arrested for taking the bribe.” The director also said that the CBI would inform the Supreme Court of the developments, as the apex court ruled that no official associated with the coal scam investigation would be transferred without informing it.
