Call the fashion police! BJP workers set to emulate 'stylish' PM Modi

If Prime Minister Narendra Modi is hailed as the fashion icon of the country, how can the party workers be far behind? They aren’t. Just like how Modi doesn’t dress up like a regular boring politician–he has a fondness for bright colours, he loves his well-cut suits, wears waist coats, and many a times he also drapes brightly coloured shawls on his shoulders–his workers don’t want to be seen as ordinary. According to an Indian Express report, BJP workers are becoming “fashion conscious” ahead of the Delhi polls. And, just like the rest of the country, they also love Modi jackets as the party has reportedly ordered 1,000 such jackets for the workers. According to the report, the Modi jackets for the workers will be pastel saffron and pastel green in colour and will have a picture of the Prime Minister. So, why are they doing this? To attract the fashion conscious voters in Delhi. Praveen Shankar Kapoor, media in-charge of Delhi BJP told India Today that this is the party’s way of trying to connect with the youth. “We are trying to connect with the youth, and the way to do that is through fashion. We are not going the traditional kurta-payjama way, but opting for short kurtas with denims. That is the kind of fashion the youths identify with,” he said. In fact, the party workers have reportedly begun investing in designer waist-coats from Fab India and Wills Lifestyle too.
