The order was passed by a Lucknow bench comprising justices Amreshwar Pratap Sahi and Vijay Laxmi on a PIL seeking directions for a CBI probe in Bulandshahr gangrape case and for making proper security arrangements on highways in UP.

An NGO, 'We the People' filed this PIL through its general secretary Prince Lenin.

Lenin said proper security arrangements were necessary at highways specially in the night so that people could move safely.

A woman and her daughter were brutally gangraped by dacoits who dragged them out of a car in Bulandshahr on NH-91 when they were travelling with their family from Noida to Shahjahanpur.
