The next day he was attacked and repeatedly stabbed by sharp weapons at a bus stop in Shahpur village. On being taken to the civil Hospital of Ambala, he was declared dead. The victim’s brother told police about his conflict with the eve-teasers and asserted that those five men were responsible for Nirmail’s murder. “On Monday, he caught them in the act and warned their parents that if they did not mend their ways, he would lodge a police complaint. The youth wanted to avenge the insult and killed my brother when he was on his way to the university,” he said. The eve-teasers, identified as Harbir Singh, Parmbir Singh, Sukhvinder, Happy and Goldy are currently absconding. Police are on the lookout for them.
