The report added that Khushboo then asked Omveer to dial her number. Even as the couple got up on stage to greet guests, the groom made mistakes in dialling the bride’s number.

Omveer even failed to count beyond nine when Khushboo gave him a few coins and asked him to do some simple addition. The groom was even confused by the apps on the bride’s phone when he was told to use her touch-screen phone.

The girl’s side had been told that the groom was a graduate. After this lie was exposed, Khushboo cancelled her wedding. Hindustan Times reported that the villagers in Gulariapur, where this wedding was cancelled, are proud of Khushboo.

“Those acting as intermediary allowed us to see the boy from a distance but we were not allowed to talk to him. Thus we could not make an assessment about the boy and shortcomings in his mental abilities,” the report quoted Sri Krishna Babu Saxena, the father of the bride, as saying.

Maybe this will teach Saxena not to try getting his daughter married to a man he wasn’t allowed to talk to.
