The dead body of a 38-year-old lawyer was found on Friday outside an eatery behind the Tis Hazari court in New Delhi.
Police suspect that the lawyer Rajeev Sharma was murdered after he got involved in a scuffle and was struck with a sharp weapon on his head, according to IBNLive. Sharma was a resident of Rohini in northwest Delhi.
The report also said that the incident took place late Thursday night.
The body was discovered by the police early Friday morning. Police have launched a probe into the incident. They are also trying to see if any of the CCTV cameras in the area show any kind of visual evidence.
Police have arrested two men who worked at the eatery in this connection and they are being questioned to ascertain the exact sequence of events which led to the lawyer's murder.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Madhur Verma said with the arrest of the two persons, the case has been cracked.
The district bar association decided to hold a lawyers' strike in the six district courts of Delhi after the incident came to light, according to The Times of India.
The lawyers reportedly said that the incident showed that there was no security even inside the court premises for judges, advocates and litigants, adding that work will remain suspended in all the district courts on Friday.
