Boat capsizes in Andhra Pradesh's Anantapur district: 13 members of family drown in lake, locals rescue 4

At least 13 members of a family were killed when a boat capsized in a lake in Andhra Pradesh's Anantapur district, police said.

Vijayawada: At least 13 members of a family were killed when a boat capsized in a lake in Andhra Pradesh's Anantapur district, police said.

According to PTI, the dead include seven women and six children.

According to ANI, four people were rescued by the locals at the site of the accident while one person was still missing.

Tragedy struck the family which was returning after attending a ceremony in a nearby village.

According to reports, the accident took place in Yerratimmaraju lake in Guntakal block. Officials said the country boat capsized due to excess weight.
