BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis is expected to be named as the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra anytime soon. As the confirmation is still awaited on his name, the clarity came after outgoing CM and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde hinted that he would not be an “obstacle” and accept the decisions taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah as “final”.
The remarks by Shinde has almost confirmed that Fadnavis would return as a chief minister after BJP’s stellar performance in the 2024 Maharashtra election and also in the Mahayuti.

1 - Addressing the media at his residence in Thane on Wednesday, Shinde said that he spoke with PM Modi and Amit Shah and told them that there will be “no obstacle” from his party in government formation in the state.
2 - Shinde said that during his conversation with the two leaders, he conveyed to them to also “not consider” him as an obstacle while deciding the next Maharashtra Chief Minister.
3 - “There is no speed-breaker from our side,” he told the top NDA leaders over the call.
4 - Shinde said in a call with PM Modi, he conveyed that “he should not think Eknath Shinde is a hurdle.”
5 - “Modi ji is the leader of the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) and I said that whatever their decision is and whoever their CM candidate is, the Shiv Sena will fully support him,” he said.
6 - “I told them Shiv Sena will wholeheartedly support their decision even if they choose a BJP candidate or anyone else from the Mahayuti,” Shinde said.

When will the Maharashtra CM name be announced?
Shinde informed Fadnavis, NCP leader Ajit Pawar and he would be attending a meeting with Shah in Delhi on Thursday where all related decisions will be taken.
He also said that the power-sharing formula would be concluded after a meeting between him, Fadnavis and Pawar in New Delhi.
