The Indian Express reported that the total pass percentage is only 17.84. Results of 11,351 candidates were cancelled as they had used whiteners in their exam, which is not allowed. The exam is necessary to qualify to apply for teaching jobs in government schools in the state.
Nearly 2.5 lakh aspiring primary and secondary teachers took the exam, which were held on 23 July, according to ExamsWatch. Reportedly, 49,488 candidates appeared for Paper 1, while Paper 2 was taken by more than 1.5 lakh candidates.
BSEB chairman Anand Kishore told the press on Thursday that only 7,338 candidates qualified from Paper 1, while 20,113 candidates qualified from Paper 2.
