Biharsharif: Armed robbers today failed in their bid to loot Rs 10 lakh from a railway guard of the Rajgir-Danapure passenger train in Bihar’s Nalanda district, police said. About half-a-dozen robbers barged into the train and allegedly robbed Rs 10 lakh contained in a steel box and a walky talky from the guard Jitendra Kumar at gunpoint before jumping out at Harnaut halt, they said. However, the robbers abandoned the cash-filled heavy box near Cheran thermal power station as they failed to lift the heavy steel box, but walked away with Kumar’s walky talky, police said.
