Bangalore shame continues: Another 3-year-old child sexually abused in school

A private school attendant was arrested for sexually abusing a three-year-old girl in Bengaluru, the police said on Wednesday. According to NDTV, the girl’s parents alleged that the child had been molested twice  — once in October and again in November. “Police say the man accused by the parents was arrested three days ago,” NDTV reported. She remained withdrawn and disturbed, then fell ill and could not attend classes for the next two days,” Yahoo reported. According to this report in Yahoo, the three-year-old told her mother that the attendant lured her into a classroom and raped her. The child was taken to the doctor where they confirmed that she was raped. Bangalore Mirror reported that the attendant named Nagaraj was arrested and charged under Sections 5(m) (f), 6, and 21 of the POCSO Act, along with Sections 188, 336, and 376 of the IPC. “The victim’s mother approached us on Saturday evening and filed a complaint against the attender, urging us to enquire with the school authorities and to take action against the accused,” Bangalore Mirror quoted the investigating officer as saying. Bangalore has seen several incidents of sexual abuse in schools over the last one year, prompting protests across the Bengaluru.
