Prime Minister Narendra Modi reminisced about former Prime Ministers including Jawahar Lal Nehru and Atal Bihari Vajpayee while addressing the Special Session of Parliament on Monday. PM Modi said “The echo of Pandit (Jawaharlal) Nehru’s at the stroke of midnight’ in this Parliament will continue to inspire us. And this is that very Parliament where Atal Ji said ‘sarkaren ayyengi, jayengi; partiyan banegi, bigedgi; magar ye desh rahna chahiye’,”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recalled former Prime Ministers including Dr. Rajendra Prasad and Indira Gandhi, saying that from the Green Revolution and emergency to the creation of Bangladesh, this parliament witnessed everything. “It was this Parliament that saw the Bangladesh Liberation movement and its support under the leadership of Indira Gandhi. It was the same Parliament that also witnessed the attack on democracy during the Emergency,” says PM Modi in Lok Sabha," he said.
