Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s iconic blue Wagon R car, which was stolen on 12 October, was recovered from Ghaziabad on Saturday, reported ANI.
According to CNN-News18, it is still unclear as to who was behind the theft and added that the car was found abandoned in a Ghaziabad locality. The Wagon R car was being used by Kejriwal till the 2015 assembly polls. The humble Blue hatchback, which became synonymous with Kejriwal’s ‘aam aadmi’ image, was being used by an AAP functionary, Vandana Singh, these days. AFP[/caption] A senior police officer had said the incident happened just before noon on Thursday and was reported to the police around 1 pm. The car was parked on the roadside outside the Delhi Secretariat. The incident outraged AAP workers, many of whom posted videos of Kejriwal using the car, especially during the 2014 Republic Day, after he became the chief minister of Delhi for the first time. AAP’s Haryana convenor Naveen Jaihind had also announced an undisclosed amount as reward for whoever finds the vehicle. Hitting out at Lt Governor Anil Baijal, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj had said the stealing of the chief minister’s car was “grave” and reflects the state of law and order in the city.
“Lt Governor’s job is to focus on law and order. But, instead of doing that he interferes in other affairs,” Bharadwaj said on Thursday. With inputs from PTI
