A student has allegedly been beaten to death in New Delhi. CNN-IBN reports that the student from Arunachal Pradesh was allegedly beaten with sticks and rods after an altercation with a shopkeeper in south Delhi.
The incident took place in Lajpat Nagar on 29 January and the student died yesterday in a Delhi hospital.
A shopkeeper allegedly made a comment on the colour of the student’s hair because of which the altercation took place, reports CNN-IBN.
After the altercation took place, the police arrived at the spot and picked the victim up. Strangely enough, the victim was dropped back as the same spot where he was then beaten up by locals.
He was taken to the hospital by his friends and family and died after spending one night there.
Right now his body has been taken for post-mortem.
