An Army vehicle carrying some jawans was ambushed by terrorists on Thursday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. The attack took place in the Thanamandi area of the district. There was no immediate report of any casualty, PTI quoted officials as saying.

Additional forces have been rushed to the spot and further details are awaited, they added. Meanwhile, PRO Defence Jammu said the ambush was subsequent to a joint operation based on hard intelligence that was launched in Gen Area DKG on Wednesday night, contact has been established on Thursday evening and encounter is in progress. This was the second terror attack on the Army in the region in less than a month. More details are awaited
