Based on specific intelligence inputs, the troops of an Infantry Unit carried out a search operation in the forest area late last night, which resulted in the recovery of three IEDs - two weighing five Kgs each and one weighing one Kg approximately.

The IEDs were kept in ready to be used position, the officials said.

The other recoveries include three mortar bombs, three UBGL grenades, 61 rounds of AK47 and one Chinese pistol with magazine, they said.

A tragedy has been averted by the recovery of these IEDs and the designs of the militants to trigger violence have been thwarted, the officials said.
