APJ Abdul Kalam's nephew Sayed Ibrahim resigns from BJP

Late former president’s APJ Abdul Kalam’s nephew, Sayed Ibrahim resigned from all party posts including the primary membership after the NDA government did not convert the house in Delhi where Kalam lived into a ‘knowledge centre’ as a memorial for him. AFP[/caption] India Today quoted Ibrahim’s statement from a press release, “Our family and the Indian public requested the government to convert the house in Delhi where Kalam lived to be a National Knowledge Centre.” According to The Hindustan Times , Ibrahim said that he was resigning the post as the centre had not been set up despite repeated requests. Zee News reported that Union Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu had said that the allocation for the house was made as per the rules and regulations. According to an IbnLive report that quoted Ibrahim saying in the letter, “The ruling party which I took part in serving the public failed to fulfill the overall demand of the people of India. This act of the BJP government is disheartening to the public, and hence I am has forced to resign from the leadership position and basic membership of BJP.” Ex-president Abdul Kalam died due to a cardio attack on July 27, 2015 at the age of 84.
