Two people have been killed as a result of a temple stampede in Uttar Pradesh, according to media reports just coming in. [caption id=“attachment_654417” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Reuters[/caption] The stampede had occurred at the Lodheshwar temple in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, where throngs of devotees had gathered to mark the beginning of Shiv ratri. Reports coming in said that the stampede had been caused by the collapse of barricades at the venue. This latest incident comes even as the state government is struggling with the aftermath of a 10 February stampede in the Allahabad railway station on Mauni Amavasya which left 37 dead.
