Anna Hazare may have decided where to launch his next campaign from but he’s still to finalise a name for it and will reportedly be meeting with former IPS official and supporter Kiran Bedi to decide on one today.
Hazare, who has announced that the nationwide anti-corruption campaign that he plans to head will begin in January 2013, has however yet to finalise a name for it and his supporters reportedly had tried to hold on to the India Against Corruption banner, something which his former lieutenant Arvind Kejriwal has taken up.
“We are trying to get the rights for using the IAC name and logo but it is uncertain if we would be able to get them. In recent media interactions, the Kejriwal-group has been extensively using IAC’s name. So we need to work out a new name for the movement. Annaji and Kiran Bedi will discuss and sort out this issue,” an unnamed member of Hazare’s team told the Indian Express.
Among the other things that will be discussed in the meeting will also be the training schedule for volunteers and where to set up the next national office of the campaign, the report stated.
“The battle for Jan Lokpal and corruption-free India will begin at the Gandhi Maidan in Patna in January,” Hazare had said yesterday.
The anti-corruption activist will also be meeting with former army chief VK Singh in his hometown of Ralegan Siddhi.
