A day after National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) official Suhars Palshikar,resigned from his post yesterday over the cartoon row, his office in Pune was ransacked today by two to three persons, said media reports. Palshikar along with Yogendra Yadav resigned on Friday after an uproar in Parliament over the controversial cartoon of Dr BR Ambedkar in the NCERT text books.Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Kapil Sibal had also apologised over the cartoon, after Dalit MPs protested over the matter in Parliament. [caption id=“attachment_307354” align=“alignleft” width=“380” caption=“AFP”]  [/caption] Speaking about the incident, Palshikar told CNN-IBN that two to three men had attacked the NCERT advisor’s office. Reportedly, they told him that they were upset with the cartoon. The miscreants were allegedly from the Panther’s Party, which is reportedly close to Ramprasad Athawale. The cartoon depicts Dr Ambedkar sitting on a snail and the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru standing behind him, brandishing a whip. The text alongside criticises Dr Ambedkar and suggests he went slow on framing the Constitution. Dalit leaders in Mumbai, Nagpur and Chennai had also protested against the cartoon in the past, after which it was reported that the HRD ministry had asked NCERT to review its use in school textbooks.
