Allahabad HC issues notice to Talwar on CBI's bail cancellation plea

The Allahabad High Court today issued notice to Rajesh Talwar, accused of being involved in the murder Aarushi, after the CBI filed an application before it seeking the cancellation of bail granted to him. The CBI had moved an application before the high court challenging the order extending the bail granted to Rajesh Talwar by the Supreme Court till April 11 saying that he was virtually on bail. The CBI had earlier sought the cancellation of the bail of Talwar and had asked for judicial custody of his wife Nupur. Rajesh and his wife Nupur have been accused by the CBI of being involved in the murder of their teenage daughter Aarushi in May 2008. Rajesh, a dentist, was initially arrested by the Uttar Pradesh police but was subsequently granted bail. Three others were also arrested by the CBI and released on bail due to lack of evidence. Based on a CBI closure report, a court had asked the investigating agency to proceed with the case against the Talwars. The Supreme Court had allowed a Ghaziabad CBI court to continue with the trial. On 16 May 2008, nine days short of her 15th birthday, Aarushi was found murdered at in her house in Noida. The next day, the body of Hemraj, who until then was the prime suspect in the case, was discovered on the terrace.
