All for two gulps of water: Youth assaulted, tied to train window for 'drinking water'

In a dreadful incident which could be explained as an unreasonable reaction to an issue of negligible size, a man was tied to a train’s window and beaten up by three men following an altercation after his father drank water from their bottle. [caption id=“attachment_2701584” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![Screengrab of the video. ANI[/caption] The assault took place after the man, identified as Sumit Kachi, boarded the Patna-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Superfast Express on 25 March at Jabalpur at around 11 pm. According to a report by NewsX, the victim was beaten up by three passengers in Itarsi district of Madhya Pradesh because his father Raghunath Kachi had allegedly drunk water from their bottle. In the video that has gone viral, Sumit is seen hanging by the window in his underpants as the three men are seen beating him up with a belt. The victim’s father had allegedly drank two gulps of water from the bottle of the three male passengers after boarding the train. His actions infuriated them so much that they assaulted his son. Not satisfied, they pulled the emergency stop chain to bring the train to a grinding halt and dragged Sumit out to tie him to a window. Unaware of the incident, the train driver released the brakes and started the train again – with Sumit hanging outside the coach,  Zee News reported. The train ran non-stop for four hours before it halted at Itarsi to the horror of those present on the platform. The accused men are natives of Patna and were on their way to Mumbai to sit for a competitive examination. In a report by DNA, it was mentioned that the police have lodged an FIR against the three persons in this regard. However, there is no report on any arrest so far.
