Aarushi murder: Talwars want to send weapon to London for DNA test

Ghaziabad: Dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar today moved a petition in a CBI court here seeking that the probe agency be directed to send ‘khukri’, a sharp-edged weapon recovered from the room of Talwars’ compounder Krishna, to a forensic lab in England for extracting DNA. “We have filed a fresh petition in court seeking that khukhri be sent to England for examining it, so that DNA could be extracted from it,” said Manoj Sisodia, counsel of Rajesh and Nupur Talwar. Ibnlive[/caption] Additional Sessions Judge Shyam Lal is likely to pass the order on Talwars’ petition tomorrow. On 17 September, a London-based DNA expert, also a defence witness in Aarushi murder case, had told the CBI court that it was still possible to find some DNA on the handle of ‘khukhri’. Andre Semikhodski had told the court that the handle has several grooves and it was possible to extract DNAs from it. Final arguments in the case were supposed to start from today in the trial court but Talwar couple moved the fresh petition. Teenage girl Aarushi and Talwars’ domestic aide Hemraj were killed on the intervening night of 15-16 May, 2008 at Noida Jalwayu Vihar house. PTI
