The Aarushi - Hemraj murder trial has got underway in the Ghaziabad sessions court, with the two main accused Nupur and Rajesh Talwar both present at the hearing. The trial was transferred to the sessions court by the CBI special court last week. [caption id=“attachment_306079” align=“alignleft” width=“380” caption=“Screengrab from IBN Live”] [/caption] Meanwhile the Supreme Court is scheduled to continue hearing the Talwars’ review plea today. They have argued that the CBI hasn’t looked at the possibility of an outsider’s hand in the murders and claim that there are big gaps in investigations. The CBI has said enough evidence to try the couple for murder and destruction of evidence. Nupur Talwar has been in Dasna jail for almost two weeks, after the Ghaziabad sessions court refused to grant her bail. The lawyer for the CBI speaking to Firstpost, had said that bail had been denied on the basis that she was prima facie accused in a double murder, and that there was a possibility that she could flee from trial. The judge had reportedly given a three and a half page order, but no other details were immediately available. The judgement says, “She can create hinderance in smooth disposal of trial despite direction from the Supreme Court and she can delay the trial by fleeing”. Meanwhile the Allahabad High Court is hearing a CBI plea, asking that Rajesh Talwar’s bail be cancelled. The Court deferred that hearing to 25 May.
