With each visit foreign visit of US President Barack Obama, the wardrobe of the first lady, Michelle Obama makes as many headlines. And by the look of it, her India visit will not be any different. While we do know that she will obviously be wearing expensive gowns during her time here, we are also waiting to see if Michelle picks an Indian attire to wear this time. During her last visit, the first lady although chose Indian patterns, she stayed away from wearing a sari. This time around, however, even if Mrs O forgets to pack a sari for herself, she will be gifted a silk sari by a 27 year-old weaver from the town of Sircilla in Telengana. According to a Zee Tv report, that’s not just any sari but made out of such fine silk that it can be packed in a match box. The weaver, Nalla Vijay, also wants to present Barack Obama with a shawl. In the meantime, India is gearing up for President Obama’s visit, who will be the chief guest for the country’s 65th Republic Day. Despite the backlash of criticism he is currently receiving from the American media for leaving the country three days after his State of the Union address, Obama seems very pleased about his trip - even asking the Bukhara staff at the ITC Maurya to prepare him a special “Clinton Style” platter.
