In the wee hours of Monday, a 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said.
The quake was recorded at 5.35 am, with its epicentre in Budgam district at coordinates 33.9°N, 74.76°E, according to initial data from the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ). The depth was measured at 10 kilometres.
There were no reports of damage so far, according to officials.
According to the National Centre for Seismology, another earthquake was recorded in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Monday morning. The tremors occurred at 3.31 am with a magnitude of 4.6. The epicentre was identified in the Nicobar region at a depth of 10 kilometres.
