A day after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that his party is “fighting against a Shakti” in a veiled attack on the Prime Minister, PM Modi on Monday said that for him every mother, daughter and sister is a form of ‘Shakti’ and the 2024 fight is between those who want to destroy this ‘Shakti’ and those who worship it.
Addressing a rally in Telangana’s Jagtial, PM Modi said, “On Sunday in Mumbai, there was an INDI alliance rally after the announcement of the schedule for elections. They announced their manifesto in the rally. In Mumbai’s Shivaji Park, they said their fight was against ‘Shakti’. For me, every mother, every daughter is a form of ‘Shakti’. Mothers and sisters, I worship you as ‘Shakti’. I am Bharat Maa’s ‘pujari’.

PM Modi’s rally in Jagtial, part of the Nizamabad constituency, is expected to have an impact on the neighbouring Karimnagar seat, both of which were won by BJP in 2019. The party is looking to better its tally of four out of 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana, in 2024.
He said the support for the BJP is increasing continuously and the public gathering in Jagtial is testimony to that.
”…The biggest festival of democracy begins. On May 13 the voters of Telangana will script history,” said the Prime Minister.
The polling for the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections is scheduled for April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1, and the counting of votes will take place on 4 June.
In an indirect dig at PM Modi, Gandhi on Sunday while addressing a public rally in Mumbai, where the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra concluded, said “we are fighting against a Shakti” and the the “soul of the King is in the EVM”.
“There is a word ‘Shakti’ in Hinduism. We are fighting against a Shakti. The question is, what is that Shakti? The soul of the King is in the EVM. This is true. The soul of the King is in the EVM and in every institution of the country, in ED, CBI, and the Income Tax department,” Gandhi said.
“Our fight against Modi is not on a personal level. Modi is a mask’ who works for a Shakti’ (power). He is a shallow man who doesn’t have a 56-inch chest,” Gandhi added.
