Two soldiers of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) died on Thursday in a road accident in the Kadva Basantgarh area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur.
Twelve soldiers were also injured in the accident, according to CNN-News 18.
In a post on X, Union minister Jitendra Singh said that casualties occurred as the vehicle carrying CRPF personnel got involved in a road accident.
“I have just now spoken to DC Ms. Saloni Rai, who is personally monitoring the situation and keeping me updated. Rescue measures have been initiated immediately. Locals have voluntarily come forward to assist. All possible help being ensured,” Singh said on X.

Separately, ASP Udhampur Sandeep Bhat confirmed to CNN-News 18 the incident and said that police, along with an ambulance, rushed to the spot to start the rescue operation.
