Rain battered the nation’s capital on Monday, causing sixteen planes scheduled to depart for Delhi between 6 and 8 p.m. to be rerouted. Ten of the sixteen aircraft had their routes changed; three went to Lucknow, one to Ahmedabad, and two to Amritsar. Furthermore, according to the airline’s social media handle, severe weather and air traffic congestion at Delhi airport caused a Vistara aircraft from Guwahati to Delhi to be rerouted to Jaipur. On Monday Evening, there was some light rain in Delhi and the National Capital Region, which dropped the temperature a few degrees. Delhi’s air quality, meanwhile, continued to be classified as “very poor”. Northern India temperatures are expected to decrease by a further two to three degrees, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Additionally, starting on November 28, the weather service has forecast an increase in fog in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi-NCR. According to RK Jenamani, Senior Scientist at IMD, Delhi’s current weather is gloomy and will stay that way for the next 12 to 18 hours. It is anticipated that the highest and lowest temperatures will be approximately 25 degrees Celsius and 12 degrees Celsius, respectively. “The weather in the national capital Delhi is currently cloudy and will persist for the next 12-18 hours. The temperature is anticipated to decrease by 2 to 3 degrees at night, and fog is expected to intensify in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab from November 28,” Jenamani was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
