11 killed as wall collapses in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu

Once again, the victims were mostly construction workers. Television reports said rescue efforts were launched soon after the wall collapsed early this morning. At least one boy was pulled out alive from the rubble. The incident occurred in the Uparapalayam area of Thiruvallur district. Just last week, the Tamil Nadu government ordered an inquiry into the collapse of the 11-storey under-construction building in Chennai. as the toll went up to 55.
