The mega auction for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is underway in New Delhi with all five teams bidding for players to strengthen their squads going into the upcoming season. Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and UP Warriorz are all engaging in bidding wars to sign the players they want.
Deepti Sharma turned out to be the most expensive player of the mega auction with UP Warriorz shelling out Rs 3.2 crore to acquire her services once again.
The biggest name so far who could not find a bidder is Australian captain Alyssa Healy. South Africa opener Tazmin Brits and Australia hard-hitter Grace Harris too were ignored. However, some of these players can still find a team in the accelerated round of the auction.
