The fans at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara were treated to some classic Virat Kohli entertainment during the 1st ODI between India and New Zealand on Sunday, January 11. Known for his energy and on-field celebrations, Kohli once again caught everyone’s attention with his Naagin Dance after the dismissal of Glenn Phillips.
The moment came in the 34th over when Kuldeep Yadav got the breakthrough for India. Phillips tried to play an attacking cover drive but ended up getting a leading edge, which was safely taken by Shreyas Iyer. As the Indian players came together to celebrate the wicket, Kohli broke into the Naagin Dance.
Phillips was dismissed for 12 runs off 19 balls, and his wicket was an important one as New Zealand were looking to accelerate in the middle overs.

India vs New Zealand, 1st ODI
New Zealand posted a competitive total of 300/8 after being asked to bat first by India. The visitors made a strong start with Devon Conway and Henry Nicholls sharing a 117-run opening partnership. Daryl Mitchell then played a key role in the innings, scoring a well-made 84 to keep New Zealand on track for a big total.
In the final overs, debutant Kristian Clarke chipped in with a quick unbeaten 24 off 17 balls, while Kyle Jamieson added 8 not out to help New Zealand cross the 300-run mark in the last over. For India, Mohammed Siraj and Harshit Rana picked up two wickets each, while Prasidh Krishna and Kuldeep Yadav also contributed with one wicket apiece.
