Virat Kohli is really enjoying his time in international cricket not just while batting but during training as well. A sample of this was on display on Friday during India’s training session at the Kotambi Stadium where the Men In Blue will take on New Zealand in the opening ODI of the series on Sunday, January 11.

Kohli was seen mimicking fast bowler Arshdeep Singh’s run-up while training and the video of the act has gone viral on social media. The impression drew laugh from other players who were training and has left social media users in splits as well.

Kohli could be seen doing the impression of Arshdeep in the viral video while the left-arm pacer was passing him in his run-up.

Kohli looks to continue good form

The 36-year-old former India captain looked in cheerful mood while training and fans would hope he will go into bat with the same carefree attitude. He has been in great form in recent times, focussing on 50-over cricket having already retired from the other two international format.

Kohli was the Player of the Series in India’s last ODI series against South Africa and also returned to the Vijay Hazare Trophy after 15 years with a century and a half-century in his two outings.

Earlier this week, Kohli had shared pictures of him training with teammates on his Instagram account. KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Harshit Rana could be seen in those pictures training alongside Kohli.

Kohli loves playing the Kiwis and has scored 1657 runs against New Zealand in ODIs at an average of just over 55. He has slammed six centuries and nine half-centuries in these encounters. He had scored a ton and a 95 against New Zealand in the 2023 Cricket World Cup but missed out on big runs in the 2025 Champions Trophy against the same opponent. In this series, he would be eager to continue to extend his good form.
