India seemed to have recovered after the early wicket of Suryavanshi as captain Aayush Mhatre and Aaron George were putting up quick runs for the second wicket. However, Mhatre was dismissed for 38 and after that George did not find much support. George top scored for India with a brilliant 85. Kanishk Chouhan scored a brisk 46 coming down the order to help India get to 240 before Pakistan bowled them out in 46.1 overs.

Indian bowlers then replied back in full force with Deepesh Devendran wreaking havoc with three top order wickets. Chouhan then gave India their fourth wicket as Pakistan were reduced to 30-4 in 12.5 overs.

After that, Pakistan found a partnership with captain Farhan Yousaf finding some good support at the other end in form of Ahsan Huzaifa.

The partnership had inched up to 47 when Mhatre brought Suryavanshi with the ball.

Suryavanshi’s non-threatening left-arm spin seemed like an odd choice from the Indian captain. However, his gamble worked as Suryavanshi’s short ball was cut straight to the short third man fielder by Farhan Yousaf.

Suryavanshi broke the 47-run partnership and handed India their fifth wicket to send half of the Pakistani batting line-up back in the pavillion.

Indian bowlers then kept doing the good work to bowl Pakistan out for just 150 in 41.2 overs. Apart from Devendran, Kanishk Chouhan also picked up three wickets. India thus won the game by 90 runs.

India had also registered a massive win in their opening game against UAE.
