Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Pakistan’s fast bowler Ali Raza exchanged a few words after the 14-year-old’s dismissal left India in trouble in the final of the U19 Asia Cup 2025 on Sunday in Dubai. Suryavanshi was not at all happy with Raza’s utterances following his dismissal and he too hit back with a gesture towards his foot, probably to tell the bowler his place.

Suryavanshi threatened to put up another big score as he smashed two sixes and a four in the opening over that was bowled by Raza. India were given a steep target of 348 to win the trophy as Pakistan slammed 347/5 in their 50 overs batting first and Suryavanshi provided India with the perfect start.

Suryavanshi launched a six on the first ball of India’s chase. An under-pressure Raza then bowled a no ball on which Suryavanshi got a double. The free hit was sent to the boundary for four. The very next ball was again launched into the stands for the second six in the over.
After just 3 deliveries, India’s score was 19 without loss.
Suryavanshi then hit Mohammad Sayyam for another six in the next over.
However, that was all the fun the 14-year-old was having on Sunday. In the fifth over, Suryavanshi edged a length ball to the Pakistan wicket-keeper and was dismissed for a 10-ball 26.
Raza burst into celebrations and uttered a few words. Suryavanshi seems to have heard the send off and before walking towards the pavillion, the Indian too gave back with a few words. He also gestured towards his foot before walking off.
Sameer Minhas slams 172
Earlier, Pakistan opener Sameer Minhas continued his brilliant form and plundered 172 runs from just 113 deliveries. Minhas, whose innings was studded with 17 boundaries and nine sixes, brought up his century off 71 balls with a four in the 29th over off Deepeesh Devendran.
This was Minhas’ second hundred in the competition having cracked an unbeaten 177 against Malaysia in the opening group match. The 19-year-old looked set for a double century but got out and that helped India restrict Pakistan to 347/8.
