The full squads for the T20 World Cup 2026, which will take place in India and Sri Lanka next year, have started to come in. India announced their much-anticipated squad on 20 December, springing a massive surprise, as vice-captain Shubman Gill was dropped. Gill had been struggling for form at the top, but his exclusion has still come as a big surprise.

Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan and Rinku Singh have been included in India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2026 as the BCCI selectors opted for balance over superstars. India are the defending champions, having won the previous World Cup in 2024, when Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were still part of the team.
