Abhishek Sharma slammed his maiden T20I century in only his second match for India on Sunday. The 23-year-old took 46 balls to complete his maiden ton in the second T20I between India and Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club. After getting out for a duck on his debut on Saturday, Sharma began cautiously in the second T20I before getting into the rhythm.
In the 11th over, he smashed Dion Myers for five boundaries including two sixes, and reached his fifty in 33 balls. The southpaw completed his hundred in the 14th over by hitting Wellington Masakadza for three consecutive sixes. He was dismissed on the next ball after getting caught at the backward point.

Apart from Abhishek, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Rinku Singh also had a good day in the office, scoring 77* and 48* respectively as India scored 234/2 in 20 overs.
Abhishek Sharma has been picked for India after having a stellar season with Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024. He scored 484 runs in 16 matches with a strike rate of 204.22. Sharma slammed 42 sixes in IPL 2024, the highest for an Indian batter in IPL 2024.
