Pakistan pace legend Wasim Akram recently raised concerns about the players in the country getting committed to franchise-based T20 and T10 leagues.

Besides that, he was also seen indirectly criticising Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim as he questioned the players who don’t actively participate in domestic cricket, but express a desire to play in the national team. Notably, his remarks came recently after Imad in a recent television show said that he has other commitments and won’t be available for domestic cricket.

Former Pakistan captain Akram made the stern comments in a recent discussion on ‘The Pavilion’ show on A Sports.

“The players were busy with the team and are fine but what about others? A couple of them are sitting on television and they want to play for Pakistan. How is that possible?” Akram said.

While he refrained from taking any names, it seemed quite clear that he made proper references to Imad Wasim. In the meantime, he was also joined by Shoaib Malik and Moin Khan during the discussion.

Prior to this, left-arm spin bowling all-rounder Imad during a television show was questioned about why he isn’t playing domestic cricket. To this, he spoke about his commitment to other things like T10 cricket, thus justifying his unavailability for domestic cricket.

Imad Wasim on Pakistan’s performance in ICC World Cup

On one hand, while Imad last played for Pakistan in a T20I in April this year, he was recently seen making statements about the national team’s performance in the ongoing World Cup.

In the recent one, Imad, while speaking on a Pakistani television show, said that the Men in Green need to make one change ahead of their match against England on Saturday, 11 November.

“I think Pakistan should play a regular spinner be it Shadab, Abrar, or Usama. I think we are a spinner short but the rest of the team should stay the same,” he said.
