India Asia Cup 2025 Squad Announcement LIVE Updates: The D-Day for India’s T20I squad for the Asia Cup 2025 is here. The squad will be announced in Mumbai on Tuesday (19 August) . A press conference will be arranged with the captain Suryakumar Yadav and the chairman of the senior men’s selection committee Ajit Agarkar at 1.30 pm at the BCCI headquarters, where the squad will be announced.
Gill and Siraj to miss out on Asia Cup?
Whether Shubman Gill will be a part of the T20I squad or not will become clear today, but major reports state that despite Agarkar and head coach Gautam Gambhir being a huge 'fan' of Gill , they want to continue with Tilak Varma, who has done well since being called up to the India T20I side.
Similarly, Mohammed Siraj, who performed very well in the England Test series, is also unlikely to be picked. Siraj was not a part of the T20I side, but with Mohammed Shami not being part of the BCCI plans anymore, it was expected that he would make a comeback. But Jasprit Bumrah will be available, which means India would take Arshdeep Singh and one among Harshit Rana and Prasidh Krishna.
Kuldeep Yadav is set to return to the T20I side as the main spinner after a dazzling show at the Champions Trophy 2025. It will be interesting to see whether Ravi Bishnoi is dropped or retained, as India also want to bring in Washington Sundar. Other major topics of discussion are whether Shreyas Iyer and Yashavi Jaiswal will find a spot in the India squad, but there’s no benefit in speculation.
