The match between Delhi and Railways, which marks Kohli’s first domestic cricket appearance since 2012 , was initially not set to be telecast on television or streamed online, leaving millions of fans disappointed. However, reports have emerged that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has now arranged for the game to be live-streamed because of Kohli’s inclusion.
Earlier, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) had confirmed that they hadn’t received any information about the broadcast of the match from the BCCI. The initial lack of arrangements raised concerns among fans, as the game was expected to generate immense interest due to Virat Kohli’s return to domestic cricket after 13 years .
However, a BCCI source later clarified that the decision to stream the match online had been taken. “A decision has been taken and JioCinema will livestream the game. So all the Virat Kohli fans who are not in Delhi, need not worry. They can watch their favourite player live,” the BCCI source told PTI on the condition of anonymity.
This shift in plans comes after fans expressed their frustration over the absence of any broadcasting or streaming arrangements for the highly anticipated match featuring Virat Kohli .
