The last time he did so was against Uttar Pradesh in November 2012 , when he registered scores of 14 and 43 in the first and second innings respectively. Delhi, however, lost that match by six wickets. The Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi will host Delhi’s match against Railways from Thursday (30 January). The squad will continue to be led by 25-year-old Ayush Badoni.
Rishabh Pant a notable absentee from Delhi squad
One notable absentee from the Delhi squad to face Railways is Rishabh Pant, who scored one and 17 in both innings of their match against Saurashtra in Rajkot last week. Delhi went onto lose that match by 10 wickets. According to a report in Sportstar, the former India captain Kohli will train with the Delhi cricket team on Tuesday morning, which is a couple of days before the match.
The 36-year-old endured a forgettable Test tour of Australia recently. Kohli scored an unbeaten century in the first Test in Perth, a knock which played a vital role in India’s 295-run win over the hosts. However, the right-handed batter aggregated just 90 runs from the next four matches and struggled wile batting outside the off-stump. He finished the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series with 190 runs from five Tests at an average of 23.75.

Apart from Kohli, India captain Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant have already turned up for their respective domestic sides in the Ranji Trophy after BCCI made it mandatory for centrally-contracted players to do so in the aftermath of a horrid Australia tour.
Gill scored a century for Punjab in their recent Ranji Trophy match against Karnataka in Bengaluru, whereas Jadeja picked 12 wickets and scored 38 runs in Saurashtra’s match against Delhi in Rajkot.
