Virat Kohli’s Ranji Trophy comeback match between Delhi and Railways had to briefly halted on Thursday as a fan ran onto the pitch in an attempt to meet the star cricketer. The incident took place in the 12th over after Delhi chose to bowl first and Kohli joined his teammates in the field.
Fan evades security to touch Kohli’s feet
Just as Money Grewal of Delhi was getting ready to bowl the second ball of the over, the fan breached the security and ran towards the slip cordon where Kohli was standing. He managed to escape the security personnel and bowed down to touch Kohli’s feet before guards intervened and escorted him away.
As the fan ran towards Kohli, the former India captain could be seen asking him to calm down and not touch his feet, in the videos that have gone viral on social media platforms.

Kohli’s return to domestic cricket after more than 12 years has seen a massive crowd pouring into the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi to watch their favourite batter play once again for his state team. Kohli’s last Ranji Trophy match was against Uttar Pradesh in 2012.
He is returning to Ranji after a recent diktat from BCCI that made playing in domestic cricket mandatory for centrally contracted players. Kohli had a horrible run in Australia, scoring just 190 runs in nine innings as India lost the five-match Test series 3-1.
