The latest development in the Malik-Mirza marriage saga comes three days after the Indian tennis star shared a cryptic story on her Instagram account which further fuelled speculations of the two heading down the path of a divorce. “Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard. Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard. Choose your hard. Being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your hard. Communication is hard. Not communicating is hard. Choose your hard. Life will never be easy. It will always be hard. But we can choose our hard. Pick wisely,” the Indian tennis star had posted on Instagram stories on Wednesday. Former Pakistan captain Malik and multiple Grand Slam doubles champion Mirza had married on 12 April in 2010, with a traditional Walima ceremony taking place in Malik’s hometown of Sialkot in the Pakistani province of Punjab. The couple welcomed a boy, Izhaan in 2018. 30-year-old actor Javed was born in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah to Pakistani parents. She made her acting debut in television series Shehr-e-Zaat in 2012 and is best known for her roles in Khaani, Ruswai and Dunk. She had married singer Umair Jaswal in a private ceremony in 2020, but the pair had separated soon after. Rumours of Malik dating Javed began doing rounds on social media after the Pakistan all-rounder wished the actress on her birthday last year, and had even come to her defence online after Javed was accused of rude behaviour on set.
