Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s list of retained and released players: Royal Challengers Bengaluru have retained Virat Kohli (Rs 21 crore), Rajat Patidar (Rs 11 crore) and Yash Dayal (Rs 5 crore) ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season’s mega auction. Virat Kohli has remained an RCB player since the inaugural edition in 2008. To date, Kohli has played 252 IPL matches and has scored 8004 runs, including 55 fifties and 10 centuries. Kohli is also the all-time leading run-getter in the IPL.

Last season, RCB made a miraculous escape by defeating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 27 runs in Bengaluru to qualify for the IPL 2024 playoffs. This was after RCB lost their first six matches out of seven games. However, the Faf du Plessis-led side was beaten by Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Eliminator. Kohli ended up as the tournament’s highest run-getter in IPL 2024, with 741 runs from 14 matches.
The IPL 2025 mega auction is likely to be held in Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh on 24 and 25 November.
