India captain Rohit Sharma will have a meeting with BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia regarding the new policies that have been introduced by the board, if his leaked audio from Saturday’s press conference with Ajit Agarkar is to go by. As per BCCI’s 10-point policies list , the families of players including their partners and children will not be allowed to travel with them for more than two weeks on a tour that lasts for 45 days or more. The BCCI took the initiative after India’s disastrous Test tour of Australia, where they lost 1-3.
If the tours are shorter than 45 days, then the limit is seven days. Rohit and chief selector held a press conference in Mumbai on Saturday as India’s squads for the England series and the 2025 Champions Trophy were announced. Unaware that his mic was on, Rohit told Agarkar that they had to discuss rules with regards to families travelling with players once the press conference was done.
