 "Rajasthan Royals' leg-spinner Adam Zampa withdraws from IPL 2024")
Rajasthan Royals (RR) leg-spinner Adam Zampa became the latest player to withdraw from the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), the Australian citing personal reasons for his withdrawal on Thursday.
Zampa had been retained by the Royals at Rs 1.5 crore ahead of the player auction in Dubai in December. His manager, however, confirmed his unavailability for the 17th season of the IPL, according to ESPNCricinfo.

Zampa had a hectic international season, having represented Australia in a majority of their white-ball fixtures since the tour of South Africa in September. This includes the ICC World Cup in India in which he played a key role in helping the Aussies win the tournament for a record-extending sixth time, finishing the second highest wicket-taker (23) in that tournament.
He would later feature in each of the six white-ball matches against West Indies in Australia’s home summer as well as the three-match T20I series in New Zealand, spinning the Aussies to a commanding victory with a haul of 4/34 in the second T20I against the Black Caps in Auckland.
He is, however, expected to return to action in the T20 World Cup, which takes place right after the IPL and will be jointly hosted by the West Indies and USA.
The right-arm spinner was a part of Rajasthan’s troika of spinners including India’s Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal. He played six matches last season for the 2008 winners, claiming eight wickets at 23.50 including 3/22 in Rajasthan Royals’ win against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
