South Africa’s Quinton de Kock on Tuesday surpassed 3000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) when his team Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) took on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
De Kock thus became the third South African cricketer to achieve the milestone of 3000 IPL runs, after AB de Villiers (5162 runs) and current RCB skipper Faf du Plessis (4179). De Kock is also the 23rd cricketer overall to reach the landmark, and did so in his 99th match.

His 140 off 70 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Navi Mumbai in 2022 remains his best IPL score. Virat Kohli is the all-time highest run scorer in the IPL with 7444 runs from 241 matches.
At the rime of writing this report, De Kock had been dismissed for 81 off 56 balls, having amassed eight fours and five sixes. He was dismissed by Reece Topley in the 17th over. De Kock has thus far scored 3046 runs in the history of IPL.
LSG have played two and won one game so far, and are in sixth place in the 10-team standings with two points.
