Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni gained a lot of attention with his blistering batting and distinctive long hair during his initial days in international cricket. His hairstyle was the talk of the town and caught the eye of many, including former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf. However, Dhoni changed his hairstyle after the 2007 T20 World Cup victory and never reverted to his classic appearance - until now. As he prepares for what may be his last Indian Premier League season in 2024, Dhoni has decided to grow his hair again. Renowned celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim created a lot of buzz on Instagram in October when he revealed images of MS Dhoni sporting a new hairstyle. This new style saw Dhoni with long hair and streaks, a throwback to when he made his debut in 2004. Dhoni has spoken about the challenges of maintaining his current hairstyle, but he’s retaining it due to the love he received from fans. “Maintaining this hairstyle is very difficult. Earlier, I used to get ready in 20 mins, but now it takes 1 hour and 10 minutes. I am doing it because fans are liking it, but someday I wake up and decide it’s enough, I’ll cut it down,” Dhoni said.

Despite Dhoni’s recent social media inactivity, his revamped look generated positive reactions from fans. Hakim also said that the inspiration for this new style came from fan art that both he and the former India captain found impressive. He also encouraged Dhoni to grow his hair to a specific length without alterations. MS Dhoni will lead the Chennai Super Kings in the new season of the IPL.
