Rain expected on Day 1 and 2 in Kanpur

As discussed earlier, Day 1 and Day 2 (27 and 28 September) can be severely impacted by rain in Kanpur as the probability of thunderstorms stands at 56% for Friday and 48% for Saturday. The probability of thunderstorms comes down to 14% for Day 3 (Sunday) but a “little rain in the morning” is predicted.

The prediction of rain could put focus on the infrastructure of the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur which is not expected to be the best. In fact, due to the poor condition of one of the stands, the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Stadium has been forced against putting all the tickets on sale.

The last match to be held at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur was the Test match between India and New Zealand in 2021 which ended in a draw with bad light stopping play early on the last day. The floodlights were not working properly in that Test match.
